Project X iron shaft have made another mark in their long running list of PGA tour professionals. This one, none other than a win at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Graeme McDowell won the tournament by one stroke in his first ever major and the first European to win at the US Open in 40 years!
The winner was playing the the Project X in his irons, but there was more. The Project X Graphite also had a dominate showing with four shafts in the top 10 finisher bats, 29 in play for the entire field.
“The U.S. Open is renowned for presenting challenging courses, and Project X proved once again it can deliver consistency and accuracy at one of the toughest global golf tournaments on record,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “The U.S. Open is characterized by tight scoring so players rely on their irons and drivers to provide maximum performance. That’s one major reason why True Temper, with 138 sets in play, outnumbered all other shaft manufacturers combined in the U.S. Open shaft count. We also saw our largest number of Project X graphite shafts in play to date on the PGA TOUR, and we expect this number to continue to grow throughout the rest of the season.”
Project X continues to dominate or at a minimum, make a strong showing, amongst the PGA tour players.
