Overview/Technology-
Adams has been on the move this year introducing two new drivers, one of the the Adams Insight Tech A4 driver. The pear shaped head features a 15 gram external weight on the rear of the sole that allows a lower and considerably deeper CG (Center of Gravity) by using an internal weighting system. The curved sole is deigned to maintain structural strength with less weight.
Some of the characteristics of the Adams Insight A4 include-
- Patented Boxer Technology perimeter weighting that increase MOI
- Lightweight magnesium crown that is over 30% lighter than it’s titanium counterpart for optimal launch conditions.
- High technological materials with advanced design.
- Exceptional shaft selection including the Matrix Ozik.

Actual Player Feedback-
“I like square drivers, but none of them offered the explosiveness I was looking for until I hit the A4 OS,It does’nt sound as good as the Nike but definitely longer”
“It is not only one of the best LOOKING drivers on the market today but is also one of the longest”
“It’s more smartly designed that it appears”
Pros/Positives-
A driver built for distance and not bad on the forgiveness scale either. Although it came in somewhere in the middle of the spin rate, Adams is known for it’s innate forgiveness catering to the recreational player. The Matrix Ozik is a hot shaft and it comes as a stock shaft selection.
Cons/Negatives-
Without a true fitting system does not do itself any favor.
Overall Rating-
The Adams Insight A4 driver is definitely worth considering if you are in the market for a new driver. It fits many types of players so getting fitted or at least giving it a whirl on the demo tarps this spring will give you a good indication if it’s for you.
You probably will not publish this but I have to say that this driver looked cheap, sounded cheap and played exactly to that standard. It felt dead out of the head, was inconsistent in length and accuracy and the shaft felt awful. One of the poorest drivers I have ever tested.
I purchased this driver about 4 weeks ago used. I was looking for a driver with a lower trajectory than I was getting out of my old Adams driver which was a 9.5 degree stiff shaft but with a low kick point. The 9015D I purchased is a 10.5 degree club with the Matrix Ozik 60-S shaft with a high kickpoint, the combination even with an extra degree of loft was just what I was looking for a much lower boring shot flight overall. So a slight draw shot is playing much lower as I wanted yet I am still able to get a nice high fade without losing much distance, just less roll. Mission accomplished!
Where as I agree with the above post that the club is not the richest looking club, that was not my goal in changing drivers. I didn’t really need the extra distance but I needed to get the ball down for a lower trajectory. It is doing that very nicely. Also I agree that the sound at impact is somewhat dead or muffled compared to the ring of my old driver, the ball flies off the head with a solid feel, like the difference in a cavity back iron and a forged blade. The distance is excellent, over 300yd drives on every round with 270-280 a good avg but most importantly the overall lower trajectory is keeping me in the fairway more on windy days…I’m liking it a lot so far!
Love the 9015d 10.5 w/ stock matrix 60-s…have played just about everything and the 9015d is the best combination of distance and accuracy for me. I added about 4 grams of lead tape to bring the head weight up a little bit…I like the 9015d so much I purchased another one just in case…they are going brand new on ebay for between $79 (low) and $119 plus shipping…I also own the TM R9 w/ stock matrix stiff and the Ping G10 9* w/ stock 129 stiff shaft and I definately prefer the Adams 9015d…the Ping is a very nice stick and so is the R9…all three are nice clubs but the Adams 10.5 w/lead tape smokes them all…just as long or longer and straighter…no bad hooks no fades…I’m 60 years old and started golf at age 45… my ss on a simulator is in the 95-97 mph range. With lead tape, the stock stiffs in my 9015d’s are probably good for swing speeds between 93-100. Hope this helps.
I’ve been to lots of demo days by different manufacturers in my 4 year golf life… I would have to say pretty much that i’ve, at least, tried almost all the clubs being popularly sold on the market today. I’ve also owned Nike, Mizuno, Taylor Made & even a Maruman driver but nothing ever felt like the Adams 9015d I hit a few weeks ago. I’m quite impressed with this ‘cult’ driver. Long & straight is what I always hear or read from advertisements but this is the first time it was absolutely true! Solid impact, great trajectory with very impressive roll out. How come I never heard of this club before? My friend bought his on ebay for something like $70. What a steal! My order is in! Way to go Adams Golf & thank u to ebay!! 🙂
